Happy Friday!! Happy "NEW" You!! 12/30/2011

By now you may have heard about the 18 year old young man who died on Christmas day.  Young Ben Breedlove had the same heart condition that my Grandmother carried her entire life.  A condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.  He left behind a silent video speaking through flash cards about his near death experiences, seeing light, feeling love, joy...and peace.  There's a part in the video where the card says something to the nature of "I'm proud of how I lived my life"......and then closes with "do you believe in angels or God"....."I do"....

Ben's video here really took me by surprise.  In a world filled with the "worries" of tomorrow, here was a young man who knew and appreciated the fragility of his life and that tomorrow may indeed never come.  Was it because he saw something that many have never seen that made him unafraid?

When Ben spoke of "THE LIGHT" he saw and the "Peace" that overcame him, it brought back vivid memories of my experience one night about 8 years ago as I sat in a pitch black room in one of my darkest hours.  I didn't know if a GOD existed, but this night I prayed out to him for guidance.  A night that changed my life forever.  I posted that entire story along with how I made it to NASHVILLE here if you're interested.  MY STORY

This NEW year brings forth new opportunities for each of us to spread LOVE and LIGHT into the world.  To ENCOURAGE and INSPIRE those around us to become the best representation of the divine spirit that lives within.  I've heard it best said, we're divine beings living the human experience.  Ben's story reminds me that statement couldn't be more true.

I've also heard it said that our body is a temple for the SOUL, that we shall treat it as such.  We must honor it by taking good care of it physically and by nourishing it.  If you feel you need help putting a plan in place to bring forth a "NEW" you this year, please let me know.  If you don't have money, don't worry, I won't let that be a "BARRIER" to helping you.  It really isn't about the money anyway.  It's about being able to look back on life as Ben did and be able to speak those powerful 8 words......."I'm proud of how I lived my life"

You can visit me at  to start your plan for the NEW YEAR and guess don't have to live in Tennessee to use my COMPLETE TRAINING SYSTEM ;-)

May Peace, Joy and Love embrace you with ABUNDANCE in 2012 and beyond.

Be blessed in all you do...

Be love and love will surround you...

Happy Friday 12/23/11 Tis the Season for ENLIGHTENMENT

Tis’ the season for enlightenment……

Have you ever met or known somebody or a family and thought…WOW! They must have it all must be peaches and banana pancakes for them.  Always smiling, happy to share an encouraging word, never an ounce of negativity seeping out of their mouth?  You have?

Me too, in the form of some of my regular guests down at the Bonefish Grill.  In fact, I saw them again just the other night, lighting up the restaurant with their brilliant spirit.  I had the privilege of being serenaded by their daughter….a sweet little 5 year old girl who sang me "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" with the most delicate angelic voice...Mom and Dad gleaming with pride as they looked on.  It was another wonderful night "on the job".

I couldn't help but email them when I got home to thank them for yet again another wonderful visit and for always continuing to lift my spirits with their thoughtful and encouraging words.  Yes, this family has it all together.....Peace, Joy and Love exudes from them, they must not have a care in the world……or so I thought.

Well, I received a reply..."Ryan, Thanks so much.....Merry Christmas.  (WIFE’S NAME REMOVED) had breast cancer this year and had to have a double has been a rough year...many surgeries.....but all is good.  We are blessed could always have been worse. We are still alive and it's not that bad……....thank you for being an inspiration to're a special soul”

As I read the email, I couldn't help but feel shocked, I was totally unaware of their TRIALS.  I thought, if this family could shed so much love and light in their “Darkest Hours”...what is the potential for those of us who do not face such a burden?  What potential do we have to inspire and encourage those around us on our daily walk?  Are we focused on spirit and service to others, released of all fear, knowing that our spiritual and material needs will be met as a result?

This beautiful family reminds me that we all have so much POTENTIAL in “serving” our world around us.  To leave the house each and every day expecting to make a difference in one person’s life, expecting to meet COOL PEOPLE on our journey… to enlighten and be enlightened by others, expecting to make our world a better place one person at a time, for your children and mine.

They have decided to “COME ALIVE“ when moments of despair could have held them back......have you “COME ALIVE”???  Will you join me in 2012 and beyond????

Being a server at The Bonefish Grill has taught me the spirit of service (no pun intended) without an expectation of anything in return.  I have a calling to serve everyone as if they're my own family. Truth be told, Maddie, Ava, Heather and I come together and say “COOL PEOPLE” before I go to work and it comes true for me every night.

Have a beautiful and blessed Christmas.  May it be your best yet...happy, healthy and blessed....

Thanks for your continued love, support and encouragement over the years.

Be blessed in all you do…

Be love and love will surround you…

Happy Friday - 5/20/2011 - "More than Coincidence?"

Ever have one of those moments that simply sends chisels up your spine and makes every hair on your body stand up? Goosebumps clearly can't define what happened to me, or better yet, a few guests of mine last night. If you've ever wondered or questioned if we are a part of something so much greater than what we can see with our bare eyes in this beautiful universe......then I hope this story will be a magnificent testimony and reminder. Just last night, I met a MOTHER (in her 50's) and her DAUGHTER (in her 30's) sitting down at table 407, one of my dimly lit booths down at the BONEFISH. I walked over to welcome them to the restaurant when the MOM mentioned that they just flew in from NORTH CAROLINA. They were in town for a 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY MEMORIAL SERVICE for her Husband, who had lost his life in the terrible NASHVILLE FLOODS only a year ago. She said that on that day, she wasn't sure where her husband went, but when the waters finally receded, she found him lying in the pasture on their farm.....lifeless. That's when she sold the farm and moved away to be with her DAUGHTER in North Carolina. I couldn't help but ask them both if they've felt his presence at all since his passing. They both replied with a resounding "NO"...and that they both wish that he'd "SEND THEM A SIGN"...and that "HE WAS ALWAYS A TALKER SO HE'S PROBABLY BUSY CHATTIN' AWAY SOMEWHERE IN HEAVEN" ;-) It was then, I noticed that my table adjacent to them needed refills. I excused myself and turned to table 409 where a nice family was in the middle of dinner. As I refilled drinks, I overheard the gentleman at the table ask his wife if she knew anybody that lived in RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA.... he looked he gazed at his phone...then said it was probably just a wrong number. "WHY" she asked. He said, "Well, I don't know anybody from RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA and their was a message left with dead air." Immediately I thought of the Mother and Daughter sitting only a table away just behind me. "Hadn't they just told me they were in from NORTH CAROLINA?" I thought. Surely they weren't from RALEIGH...that would just be too coincidental right? Well, I was bound to find out. After their meal, as I spoke with the Mother and Daughter, I couldn't help but ask...."So what part of North Carolina did you say you were from?" The Mother looked at me with a grin and replied "RALEIGH". (INSERT GOOSEBUMPS HERE) Should I keep this info to myself or tell them I pondered. I decided to tell them, since it seemed to coincidental to be true and well, if you know me, I have no shame.....So I told them both about the mysterious phone call the man had received at the next table........and slowly, the tears streamed down their was as if they finally felt his presence again....a presence they so longed for.... I looked them in the eyes and couldn't help but be consumed with overwhelming joy and elation that their wish had just come true on the eve of a Memorial for the love of their life....a loving, caring man........a gentle Father and caring Husband.... More than coincidence? May all your days be filled with peace, joy, love and light with hope for a more beautiful tomorrow.........may you bless all those you come in contact with everyday.....may you continually inspire and uplift those around you...and be inspired by the continuous mysteries that life has to offer. Today is the first day of the rest of your life ;-) Be blessed in all you do... Be love and love will surround you... Inspire.... Ryan

Happy Monday!! 2.28.2011 R.I.P. Grandpa Dale

It is with mixed emotions that I write to you today to let you know the world lost an amazing man last night. You won't hear about it on the news ....nor will they put his picture on the screen at any of next years awards shows as they pay tribute to the great people we lost in 2011....and though it's deserved, a flag will not be lowered in his honor, to pay respects to him for serving our country. probably guessed, the President will not be interrupting your T.V. Program this evening to ask for a moment of silence..........see.......he was a simple of the many millions upon millions of “UNKNOWN” hero's in our world. I'm sure you hold a man or woman like him close to your heart as my family does.

He was the husband of my amazing Grandmother, Ernestine (R.I.P).

He was a father to my beautiful mother Vicki, my Uncle Steve and Uncle Jim.....

He was my fishin' buddy back when I was just a boy (the 4-5 times we went)........

He was a man that served for our country (yes, he even fell off the aircraft carrier)......

He was my role model (minus all the cigarettes he smoked).......

He was a man with few words to say, but what he said resonated.....

He was a great neighbor always ready to help a friend....

He was the man who took us to Pic-a-dilly every time the family got together so I could get the yummy JELLO SQUARES..... ;-)

He was my friend....He was my HERO.....

He was....Grandpa Dale.

To pay tribute to Grandpa, I just uploaded a song that I'd like for you to have.  It's called  “What life is..." and was written after having a nice visit with him a few years back......may his words bless you as they did me.

I also posted my Happy Friday Email "HIStory" that went out Sept. 2010 after visiting with Grandpa.

Happy Friday!! 1.28.2011 "The Luckiest Man Alive.."....

First off, I hope this message reaches you in blessed spirits filled with hope and inspiration.

Like most people, we have one of those lil' inspirational calendars laying around the house that is usually open to a date from a few months back....but, if read, can give ya a little pep talk.....a new vision for the day.  The Calendar we have is derived from the book, "Ask and it is given".

Yesterday, strolling by it, I decided that I need that lil' "booster shot in the soul".  So of course, I moved it from November 15th to the current date.....January 27th and what I read was quite eye opening.....little did I know that I was about to encounter a man later in the day that "lived and breathed" the very passage.

The calendar passage I read, talked about how important it is to (I paraphrase)....."No matter what has come against you, make sure to live in the now with peace and happiness in your your soul, but still desire and be eager for great and amazing things to come...."

It wasn't but about 4 hours later when I encountered  a man and his beautiful family....."a divine appointment".....that has to uproot his entire family due to life threatening kidney failure....only months before he was "healthy as a horse" he said.  The next.......the news came that if he didn't get a Kidney Transplant he wouldn't live much longer.

As he sat there sucking on an ice cube (because he can't drink a lot of fluids).  He looked at his "autistic 13 year old"....he looked at his wife....then to me and said he was the "Luckiest Man Alive"....and knows this period in his life is only a stepping stone to amazing things.....and to healing...

I hope you have a beautiful and inspired weekend......happy with all that is....yet eager for many, many blessings to come.....and that this message blesses you as it did me.

Thanks for your friendship...

Be blessed in all you do...

Be love and love will surround you...

Happy Sunday!! 12.26.10 - Happy New You!!

Well, a New Year is upon us.

It was only a short 11 years ago now that I was packing my pantry with water and food wondering if my lights were going to go out as the clock struck midnight. was 1999...soon to be 2000.  Seems like yesterday doesn't it?

11 Years ago.  4,015 Days Ago.  96,360 Hours Ago.  5,781,600 Minutes Ago.

A lot can happen in 11 years.....

In fact, starting in 2000, if you had.....

....a child in Kindergarden, they'd almost be graduating High School

....a mortgage on a 15 year note, it'd be paid off in 4 more years

....started college part time, you would have graduated with a Bachelors degree and possibly a Masters by now.

....planted a tiny acorn, by now it could be a 22 foot tall mighty oak tree.

The above scenarios all have one thing in common, a "CONTINUATION" of something.  Not starting something, then stopping for a lil' while, to start up again, then stopping....year after year.

Which brings me to New Year's Resolutions.

I heard the other day that....

- Only 8% of the population succeeds with their New Year's Resolutions

- 40% quit by the end of January....

- 80% quit by the end of February...

As we go about making our New Year's Resolutions this year, like we always do, I hope you'll join me in 8% category, even if it does take 11 years to achieve.  Let's ask ourselves where we want to be in 11 short years from now?  And start taking those steps "TODAY". And remember, you don't have to wait till January 1st either. ;-)

Want Credit card Debt paid off?

Mortgage paid off?

To be fit and healthy?

Want to go back to school and graduate from College?

Want to pursue a dream?

Go ahead...fill in the blank......I am going to_____________________....

The future is for you to build.  One day at a time.  One step at a a NEW YOU.....

I came across Madelyn singing "SILENT NIGHT" from last year and at the very end, she says....

"HO,HO,HO....Merry Christmas...HAPPY NEW YOU!!!

The "HAPPY NEW YOU" resonates with me every time I hear it....

So Cheers to the next 11 Years, and to the year 2011...

"HAPPY NEW YOU!"  from the Nicholson Family ;-)

Happy Friday - HISstory

Well, I made it to Arizona safely and had a pleasant visit with my Grandpa yesterday. I hadn't seen him in about 2 years and wasn't prepared for what I saw. He lost over 30 lbs and gave several blank stares like he was searching for what to say. At one point, he felt "ALL" his pockets like days of old in search of his cigarettes. When asked what he was doing, he said....."I just bought cigarettes yesterday down at the store and can't find them". He's in the special care area at a care facility and has no access to a store with cigarettes and hasn't had one for a long while. When asked how he got to the store, he said, "I walked there yesterday" and continued..."It was only about 10 miles". At one point while having lunch, he pointed to a lady that looked eerily similar to my Grandmother who passed 2 years ago and said, "Ryan, did you see Grandma?" I questioned, "That's Grandma?" he looked at me with his gentle drooping tired eyes and said, "Yeah, I talked to her yesterday....she changed her name ya is Carol". Of course that wasn't my Grandmother's name....Ernestine is a far far cry from Carol...doesn't even share a letter ;) I continued the visit asking about his past...things he enjoyed, things he did....memories he had and it appeared for a moment Grandpa was back. Sharing the story about the time he "FELL" off the boat while in the NAVY. Yes....he fell about 42 feet into the deep waters below while painting the side of a Navy Aircraft Carrier........when asked of his favorite memory with Grandma he said, "what do you mean favorite?".....and continued...."they were all great!" Then he paused......the blank stare came back......I'm not going to lie, that one choked me up...and drowned my eyes a bit..... We concluded the visit taking him back to his room with the bare white walls, walls that held not a single picture except for the old familiar one of him and Grandma....smiling in their SUNDAY best.....a picture I remember hanging in my own home as a child....a picture that will forever be tatooed in my mind......As I left, I gave him a big hug. Was it a last hug? Perhaps. Did we say our last words? Perhaps. Was it my favorite memory of Grandpa? No.......they're all great.... I pray this Happy Friday letter inspires you to reach out to your loved ones, your Grandparents....and that you may rekindle. Be blessed in all you do.. Be love and love will surround you.. Inspire.. Ryan P.S. I thank you dearly for your friendship...for your support and love...may you have a beautiful and blessed weekend........ P.P.S. If yer in Arizona this weekend, please come out and say hi at the show. I'll be at Borders Chandler Pavillions off of Ray and 54th Street....tomorrow night Saturday Sept 11th, 2010 - 7:00 P.M (FREE/ALL AGES)

Happy Friday - FEB 26th 2010 - Persistency

Wow, I can hardly believe it's been almost 2 years since I've sent out a Happy Friday letter.  I remember really looking forward to sharing a lil' somethin' that had touched my spirit or inspired me the week prior.

Guess you could say I got busy...that seems to happen these days in this fast paced world eh?  I do have a lil' excuse however....I had a lil' girl mizzzz "Madelyn Grace", then I ended up moving, then I had another little girl miss "Ava Faith".  And just like that, we're 3 years down the road ;-)

If you're wondering why I'm writing one today, it's because several friends of mine keep emailing me, telling me how they miss the Happy Friday Letters and were wondering why I haven't sent one out in forever....some would call it nagging, I simply call it here's to you my friends ;-)

Which brings me to today's Happy Friday topic....Persistency

My friends have proved to me, that if you want something bad enough, be a squeaky wheel and be persistent...afterall, they say the squeaky wheel gets the grease right?

Now of course you don't wan't to be so squeaky that ya need 3 cans of WD40 to fix ya up....just enough so that a lil' squirt will do.... ;-)

If you have kids & pets you know all about persistence - My little Madelyn Grace is the definition of persistence.  Go ahead and look it up in Websters...her name will be right there - it reads:

Per Sis Tence - Madelyn G. Nicholson -  "lil' squeaker that never gives up, falls down and gets right back up"

I've also had the fortunate blessing of living with a lil' Dachsund named Kiara (My First Daughter ;-) that over the years has taught me alot about persitency.  She has this thing for wanting to sit in my lap while goes a little something like this.  She jumps in my lap, I'll set her back down.  (This repeats about 12 times) and by the 13th, well, needless to say, she's cuttled in a ball back up on my lap while daddy finishes dinner.  You've been there before I know ;-)  It goes the same for playing, my goodness,  pets love to play don't they?

So what am I tryin' to say? Well...I guess it's if ya want somethin' bad enough for you or for your family....give it your all....let's be more like our pets and our children....and look at life through their innocent "CAN DO ANYTHING" eyes.  Somewhere along the way, I think we all have in a lil' way built a "WALL" around our potential...around our GIFTS....and every time we hit that "WALL" (some of us have hit it more than others) we find that it hurts.....and we give up....

Persistency teaches us that the "WALL" is our friend.  For if the "WALL" wasn't there, we would never need to learn one of the most valuable lessons in life......."Persistency"

I hope this new year fills your heart with joy, laughter and memories you'll have forever.....

May you have a blessed weekend..

Be blessed in all you do..

Be love and love will surround you..

Ava Faith Nicholson has arrived!

She's here, it's official...Ava Faith Nicholson was born 7 lbs 8 oz & 20 1/4 inches long.  Oh, and blue eyes like her Mummy....looks like she'll be a smart one since she already knows her ABC's, we'll have to attribute that to her big sis' Madelyn Grace Nicholson who ran around for the last nine months singin' ABC's ;-) Madelyn is now a big 2 and 9 months.  Boy the time is a flyin', but life is good, all is well and happy.  I'm still writin' when I get time but puttin' Daddy and Husband first and foremost on my resume.  The songs still come however and music still holds a dear place in my heart so I play out when I can with some of the most wonderful and amazing people/friends a man could ask for.  Nashville has been a blessing in our lives........can hardly believe it's been almost 5 years since moving to town.....what a ride!!! ;-)

"Thank You!!" is all I can say.......5.20.09

Tomorrow night is a very special night for me and I wanted to take a moment to say "Thank you" for your genuine support over the years.  Without you, I would not be where I am today......

It all started out in Arizona....rockin' out with some friends of mine that decided to "start a band" you may know......I was told the band was breaking up.....then walked in on em' while they were practicing with a new singer.....never felt so hurt in my life....but looking back...I see there was a divine purpose.  It lead me to some of the greatest musicians I've ever met...Pete Oliphant, Scott Bennedetto & Wayne Kandas.  We all got together and started "Second Sight"  what a priviledge it was to share the stage with those amazing men.

Once we decided to disband the band ;-)  Pete Oliphant and I started an acoustic act "RYNO" (thank you hootie for the name) and played around Arizona for a few years, along with a very close friend Phil Rowe.  (May you rest in peace Phil...I think of you often and your beautiful daughter and wife and still hear your voice and your amazing guitar work on our albums)

During this period I felt a longing for just didn't feel right and I prayed to GOD, please let me live your was at this point that I surrendered to his desire for my life and to follow his open my heart and mind to his purpose for my life......All signs pointed to Nashville, TN

Since my time in here in Nashville, I've had some of the highest highs, and some of the lowest's the roller coaster ride that most songwriters find ourselves on during the "JOURNEY" and actually parallels life in a way...

I still remember that first year, those first few months were exciting and I was goin' "UP,UP,UP....positive...thinkin' anything is possible.... but then BAMMMM!  I reached the peak and "DOWN I WENT" thinkin'.....I'm DONE!!....I don't belong here.....I went to a few writer nights, saw some of the big writers and honestly thought.....these writers are could I ever even compare.

During these low points I was blessed to have met some of the greatest friends a man could ever meet.....friends/writers/artists....I began to find new life....a new inspiration....many that told me.."stop tryin' to write like the hit writers and write like you".  Together we walked hand in hand lifting each other up when we were down.......and were never to busy to push each other back down when our egos were getting to big (o.k. i'm only kiddin' bout' the latter) ;-)

So the day has roller coaster is facing blue skies again.....anything really is possible if you just keep doin' what you love.  "Lainey Edwards" one of the "friends/artists" I'm talking about, is playing a showcase for many RECORD Labels tonight at "THE RUTLEDGE"and is releasing her debut album "LUCKY GIRL".   THIS album was produced by GRAMMY winning Producer "Brett Beavers" he produced multi-platiumn country artist "DIERKS BENTLEY"...and I'm happy to say I wrote 8 of the songs on it.

I write this letter to you today to say "THANK YOU!" for if it weren't for you, I might still be lookin' at some ugly "dirt"......instead of the "sunny blue skies!"  I'm truly grateful our paths crossed and pray you too are having the ride of your life knowing that you too can do "ANYTHING!!"  and if you're not, I hope you're ready to "HOP ON...and LET'S RIDE!!!"

Below is information regarding the SHOWCASE, If you have any friends or family out in Nashville, TN please feel free forward this info  to let em' know.....afterall....any friend of yours is a friend of mine ;-)

Hope you're having a beautiful day.....and look forward to seeing you again someday very soon...

Be blessed in all you do...

Be love and love will surround you...

t Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! 12/24/2008

Well...tonight's the night.....Santa is going to try and stuff his cookie filled belly down my's gonna be tough for him this year though because we had to plug it up....too much cold air was gettin' in.....(yes, it's cold here these days....try 8 degrees the other mornin'.....and for an Arizona boy...well....need I say more....)

It's this time of season that I'm reminded of our yesteryears when we were innocent kids without a care in the world...except for what was hidin' in those elaborately decorated packages underneath the sometimes not so healthy christmas tree.......can anybody say more water please ;-)

These were the same years that I remember sometimes wondering where I would lay my head that night. 13 elementary schools......Mom, sister and I sharin' a waterbed in a family friends living room.......I digress........yet, I never had a worry...somehow as a child you just know things will work go with the flow!!!

Which brings me to the economy and the state of our world......some of you might not know where you're going to lay your head tonight, or if you'll have a job next year......some (my family included) are going through really, really difficult times right now....myself's a rough, rough that child of yesterday, I commit to goin' with the flow....because like the past, it does all work out...somehow.....

So....Have a very Merry Christmas filled with Peace, Love and Lastly HOPE!!!

God Bless...

Dare to fail - I saw this on the CBS Morning show and....

Had to share it in case you missed it.

I read a great quote in a Guidepost the other day that said, failure is only permanent if you give up and quit....and then this morning, the CBS Morning show covered the very same topic....I felt a need to share so I hope you don't mind ;-)

I urge you to go out this week, this year, this lifetime...and dare to fail....for it's through our failures that we learn, we grow, we become......

Did you know the billionaire author of Harry Potter was practically penniless?? I've added some of the examples of people who failed big time, but are now on top.....May your failures take you places you've only dreamed of.......God bless....Ryan

(CBS) If at first you don't succeed, the saying says, the thing to do is not give up, but try, try again. When people tell you you should quit, but you don't want to stop, just think about the stories of some people now on top

Sometimes when things fail, they were simply ahead of their time. Did you know the fax machine was actually a failed invention in the 1840s?

The copy machine was invented in 1937, but the idea was rejected by the likes of GE and IBM. It would be 10 years before Xerox's machine would make its debut.

And the Apple Newton - the first handheld PDA - was a flop, but its innovations can be seen today in the wildly successful iPhone.

John Grisham, whose first novel was rejected by a dozen publishing houses.

Henry Ford, who went bankrupt 5 times.

More "failures": Artist Vincent van Gogh, who sold only one painting in his lifetime

Happy Saturday!! August 2nd 2008 "Did he say Evil Kineval"

It's been awhile since I've taken a moment to write a Happy Friday email and I must apologize since I've been really, really busy with family, music and other endeavors.

Busy with momma, busy with Madelyn...busy writing, busy recording, busy workin' the ol' busy in fact, it feels like I've somehow missed the last 7 months of it already August??

I looked through pictures that Heather and I have taken since January of this year and was in tears at how fast my lil' girl has grown up...her cheeks aren't as plump, her hair is startin' to get the lil' curly q's at the end....if you told me she was Evil Kineval's daughter...well...I'd believe you....she's already jumpin' off Daddy's guitar cases wearin' a big ol' cheesy smile on her face.....yes, I cheer her on every time she has a safe landing.....and am there to pick her up when she bites the carpet....;-)

But back to the word "Busy"...

Gotta love that 4 letter word.....we all know it....but to what extent?

I was quite humbled Friday when I visited with a client of I walked through her doors, she greeted me with the same bright eyed smile I've seen every time I visited, but somethin' was different.....She asked how my family was....we talked about the baby....and other odds and ends.......then I asked her how she'd been.....that's when she lost it......she had just received news that her husband of 43 years would most likely not make it through the weekend....and all she could say to me was "Ryan, don't take this time on earth for granted, don't take your family and loved ones for granted, cause you never know when they could be taken away from you...." She said, they married at 17 and for the life of her, it seems as if it was yesterday when this cute lil' boy was tryin' to ask her out......then over the years, they got BUSY with stuff.....(you know the stuff that envelops our time) and didn't take as much time for each other as she would have liked.....the regrets were settin' in as if a barrage of heavy stones had fallen on top of her.....

As I write this email....her voice is echoing those words......and though I can't see them....I know her tears are falling.....her world is crumbling.....but as everything happens for a purpose.....I know one life is surely being changed for the better and hopefully many, many more....

Be blessed...

Happy Sunday!! Are you on the list?

A friend of mine and I recently had an opportunity to share stories about family, life and the pursuit of the creative side of do you balance it all?? Remain sane throughout the chaos....?? Keep the chaos controlled?

He mentioned to me that lately he had no time for his creative projects, his artwork, which I must say, God gave him amazing talent. I'm quite blown away at what I've seen. Yet he has no time for it. Between the 8-5 job...the chores around the house, being a husband and father.....he's left tired and uninspired.

I too share his concerns, being a new father, husband and well, starving artist....oh, and that 8-fiver....I'm left wondering.....where am I going to find time for me? It sounds so very selfish in a way, but it's really unhealthy for the soul. Like him, I have a long laundry list of things to get done....people to please.....but have failed to put myself on the list.......we both had a lil' we both a childish manner.... "i want to be on my list".....

So, I only write this today to let ya know you're not alone, if you haven't put yourself on your list as of late. I don't want to sound as if this is a "poor me" attitude either, because I do believe it happens for a purpose... maybe it takes getting to this point to move towards change, for a better future for us, for our souls and our loved ones.

Today my friend, I've put me on the list, I'm at the bottom ;-) but I'm on it, I'm just beneath the other very imortant people in my life. But at least I'm on it.....

And for my friend, he's on his list too.....yep you guessed it, at the bottom.

It's O.K. to think, to question,

to be down, to get back up, to move into the unknown future with limitless opportunities, to be hurt, to get want to be better.......afterall.... when we strive to make ourselves better, we make a better world....

be blessed this Sunday in all ya do

be love and love will surround you

Happy Holidays and a blessed new year!!! 12.24.2007

Another year is coming to an end and what a year it was. In my wildest dreams, I never thought that one day I'd be staring into the eyes of a beautiful little girl, laughing like I've never laughed before, you know the kind that brings happy tears to your eyes....makin' yer cheeks hurt a lil' bit? ;-)

Well, 10 Months ago, Madelyn Grace Nicholson, came into my life, helping me realize, all that is and ever will be important in this lifetime is family. And what a wonderful time of year to be reminded of that.

A few friends of mine this last year have lost loved ones.....their grandparents, parents, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, wives & husbands have moved on.

Some other friends have been stricken with illness they wouldn't wish on their worst enemy.

But through it all, they all mentioned one thing that resonates with me. It is family and friends that have helped them through the dark despair and they wish they would have taken more time for them....making every day count.....what a powerful statement.

I hope that we all have many more wonderful years to fill with precious memories with our loved ones.....but if we don't, let's make every day count starting today.

I pray 2008 is a blessed year, that all your needs are fullfilled, may you continue to live in peace.

Be blessed, be love, inspire

Happy Friday 5.25.07 "God's perfect timing"

It feels like only yesterday when I was kicked out of the first band I ever formed out in Arizona....yes...kicked out....replaced by another all went down kinda like that movie "Rock Star" with Mark Wahlberg.... I went over to the drummers house (where we practiced) to pick up my gear (since the band was supposedly breaking up) and what did I find???? I found my band jammin' with a new singer........boy did that hurt....kinda felt like I'd been kicked in the gut with steal toed boots.....felt sick to my stomach for days....what was I to do now? I'd invested so much time learning "Cover" tunes......and was really looking forward to playin' out (Please note: at this time, I hardly knew a chord on the guitar....hadn't written a song....and had never played in front of a crowd) What I didn't know at the time was that God had a greater plan for my life....and I can only see that now as I look back on life........there are other "scenarios" but this one captures the true essence that BAD things will happen (that actually turn out to be BLESSINGS) God had me in that band just long enough to stir up a fire inside, to inspire me to want to do more with music, to learn how to play guitar, to write my own inspire others that go through difficult times.... So what are your challenges right now? Are you being kicked out of your band....friends and family stepping out of your a fire being lit inside you? If something doesn't feel right...go with your gut instinct....'s perfect timing.... Be blessed.. Be love... Inspire... Ryno

What's most important - Thought for the day

Ever take a day for granted? A loved one? Father, Son, Mother, Daughter, Husband or Wife? A pet? Then it hits...A storm..... Sometimes it blows so hard it knocks ya right off the tracks you've been so happily treading down.... Why? We ask.....Why? Well, from personal experience, I've had many storms blow through...seasons of struggle....moments I wouldn't wish on the time it was of course the worst thing ever....however, lookin' back....I'm so very grateful that they happened.... Ya see, those struggles make us who we are today....the "Scars" of the past help mold us into the new us....forever changing...and learning....becoming a greater representation of the divine humans we were created to be..... So if yer strugglin' and goin' through a difficult time, I just ask and pray that ya hang in're not alone....find a supportive group of friends that can help lift yer spirits.....and as hard as it might be.....dig deep, dig up the old roots....plant the new you....and be forever grateful that God has amazing plans through the struggle...... Be blessed in all you do Be love and love will surround you Inspire... ryno

Happy Friday 4.7.06 People in need - Happy Easter

Hey , Everywhere, everyday...somebody needs a helping hand, and today I thought I'd share a few stories of people I know that need people like you to reach out to them for either prayer or donations..... So if you are so priviledged on this beautiful Easter weekend please take a moment to read their stories....and if you can help, well, that'd be great! Also included at the bottom of this email two inspiring links that are just amazing...I can't put it into words...check em' out... ___________________________________________ First is a story about a friend of mine here in TN. His son Jackson Daniel Cooper was in a serious moped accident, he went face first into an oncoming vehicle. His face severely crushed, he's now in ICU....Jackson could use your prayers during these trying times, not only for him but for his family.....Why these things happen, we may never know...just have to have ultimate faith that it's for a greater purpose, maybe to unite us as one in love and prayer...unfortunately and one young mans expense....please pray for him. ____________________________________________ Second, is a story from Lisa, she wanted to tell her story first hand, it's very touching...and as you know this is a time of donation for the March of Dimes, please if you can donate, do's for such a wonderful cause. Below is her story along with a link to donate. Thanks so very much Well, here's my story... On April 6, 2005, I went to my 21 week prenatal appointment as usual. When the doctor put the monitor on my stomach, he searched for a heartbeat. He said the baby was probably turned wrong and we should do an ultrasound just so he can record the beats per minute. He had labeled me high risk since I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks the previous year. We went into the ultrasound room and and after a quick glance of a curled up fetus, it was confirmed that there was no heartbeat at all. My doctor walked over to me, grabbed my hand and said, "Lisa, I'm sorry but your baby has stopped growing." I tried to hold it together and not shed a tear, hoping that maybe he was wrong. He took me into his office and said that they needed to remove the fetus as soon as possible. He asked if I wanted him to call my husband. I said yes and he called; it was the first appointment he had ever missed. Once my doctor started discussing my check in time to be induced and deliver the son I would never truly know, it hit me, and it hit hard. I couldn't stop crying I wanted my husabnd to come get me, but then my car would be left behind and once I got my husband on the phone, we realized he couldn't drive either. It was the longest ride home EVER and the office was literally 5 mintues from home. I spent that night holding my stomach ans waiting. Waiting for for him to move, kick, anything. Nothing. The next morning, we checked into labor and delivery at 8 AM. I got an IV drip to induce labor and I refused pain medicine bacause I told myself it wasn't real labor because I was only 5 months pregnant. Once my mother arrived from Indiana around 6Pm that night she talked me into an epidural saying I was unintentially fighting labor and causing the entire thing to take longer than necessary. At 2:17AM on April 8, 2005 I delivered my son, Kalob Guy Wainwright. To us, he was beautiful. He was 7 inches long and didn't even weigh a pound. After a autopsy that revealed absolutely nothing, leaving me with no closure whatsoever, we had a funeral service and had him cremated so he could go everywhere with us and we promised to see many places and take him along. That was almost 2 years ago, it will be 2 years on Easter this year. I think I'm doing well, at times. I have a new son, Donovan Bradley who is 8 months now, but I still cry, hard, and pretty often. But with The March of Dimes, I at least feel like I'm helping other to not feel the pain of losing a child. It's a gut-wrenching pain that never eases. People think their heart broken when a relationship goes sour and swear to God above that it hurts. But, for 2 years now, my heart has ached and felt so empty. There's this huge whole in my heart that Kalob took with him when he passed away. I will feel whole again when I see him in Heaven and we a re reunited. Until then, I help others avoid never ending pain. You can see a picture of Kalob on our fundraising site. Here's the web address to make donations and learn more about The March of Dimes: Thank you again and may God bless your soul. Lisa __________________________________________ If you know somebody that needs a helping hand, please email me, I'd love to help get the word out. Be blessed in all you do Be love and love will surround you Inspire... ryno p.s. My song "Keep movin' on" was given an Honorable mention in the 2006 NSAI/CMT song contest. IT was written with good friends Rob Arey and Rebecca Self. Rob's at In other news, my songs "Scars" and "For the one's I love" also received finalist in the ISC competition and we're also given Honorable mention. "For the one's I love was witten with Jarrod Doucet __________________________________________ Below are some very cool inspiring links and stories that people have sent me....hope ya enjoy em'.....AMAZING STUFF!!! ___________________________________________ The nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. "Your son is here," she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened. Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement. The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients. Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night. Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited. Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her. "Who was that man?" he asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father" she answered. "No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life." "Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?" "I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed." The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay. We are not human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings going through a temporary human experience. Walk in peace! Take Care and God Bless.

Thought for the day 4.1.07

Wealth is a weak anchor, and glory cannot support man; this is the law of God, that virtue only is firm, and cannot be shaken by a tempest.... PYTHAGORAS Watched "Where are they now?" lately on VH1 (if it's still on ;-) or seen the headlines for REHAB facilities? Wealth does not buy happiness....nor does the fame.... Sometimes I actually feel really bad for those in the lime light, those who haven't figured out who they really are yet....then the tabloids get a hold of em' and tear em' a part....nobody really deserves that kind of treatment? Not in my book....why tear a man down? Does society really want to see that? Aren't we really here to lift each other up? To lift spirits so high that we all benefit from the light that shines from each of us..... To have a better world, we have to be better have a world full of love, we have to be love..... Hope you find rejuvination of spirit on this beautiful SUNDAY!! Be BLESSED in all you do Be peace and peace will surround you Be Love and love you'll see ryno

Happy Friday 3.16.07 The "Madelyn" inside us all

Before Madelyn arrived in this world I sat late one night in my jam room, lights dimmed, and started strummin on my shiny black ibanez acoustic guitar (it reflected a fine bright light against the wall thanks to my Uncle Mark who visited a few weeks prior and showed me how to clean the dirtly ol' thang, not to mention how to change the strings ;-) Lookin' at the white light shinin' on the wall I thought about the little miracle and ball of light that lie innocently inside Heather's belly...."MY DAUGHTER" What would she grow up to be? Would she have battles in life to conform to societies beliefs of what she should or shouldn't be.... or would she be like the "hippies" of yesteryear and follow her be be a unique representation of what she thinks God intended her to be?? Unafraid to be accept stand up for what she believes be strong in her be proud of who she is....standin' in her shoes every step of the way..... As a new "Father" I want the best for lay that foundation of faith, hope, love and appreciation for others that are unique in their own right....thus a song was born..."Madelyn" We were all once just like her....future unknown...all we cared about was a clean diaper, some "Boobie Juice" and lil' TLC.....we saw the world with fresh eyes....and a learning spirit...unafraid of what others thought of us.... Today is a new day to bring back a little of that "Madelyn" inside each and everyone of be accept the world and its people with open arms....forever learning of the great possibilities this wonderful life has to offer.... Be blessed in all you do.... May this weekend bring you lots of love, laughter and peace... Lastly, thanks so very much for your love and support...I'm forever grateful. Ryan "ryno" Nicholson P.S. If you'd like to hear "Madelyn" in it's entirety visit (it's the first song in the player) P.P.S Single song downloads are NOW AVAILABLE on my website thanks to SNOCAP....only .99 cents P.P.S Arizona show coming soon (in MAY) thanks for helping to get the word out....

Happy Friday 3.9.07 "An ordinary house fly"

I read a great story recently that spoke of the limits we put on fact, it spoke of a housefly that if put in a jar with a lid for a length of time will find that it cannot fly out and will simply give up trying....tired of bumping into the ceiling.... Even when the lid is removed, the fly will no longer attempt to fly out and will stay in the jar....because it learned not to try....because it'll result in failure..... How many times have we been stuck in that jar? Are ya stuck right now? I hope this story motivates you to keep on tryin' keep pressin' forward when it looks bleak....even when that lid seems pressed so tight that it'll never come off....... Have a blessed weekend..... May your days be filled with life, love, laughter and purpose...... Ryno

Do it anyway!!

I hope this speaks to you as it did I... DO IT ANYWAY Written By Mother Theresa People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway

And again this morning when Heather said I was trying to comfort my pillow, while lying in bed....checkin' a diaper perhaps?? ;-) Even Heather was panicked for a second this morning with an "OH NO!, Did I forget the 9:30 feeding" she woke out of a quick hour nap.... In other news, thanks to everybody rememberin' to vote for my song (either one) "each day" in the ISC "people's choice" contest....and for getting the word out to friends and family....only 20 more days to go....

It's really been a while since I sent an official update so, I'm happy to report that one of my friends and co-writer Rebecca Self had a healthy baby named "Boston" and no he doesn't look like me.

Another friend and co-writer in town is going to be on a songwriting reality series to be aired on national look out for Donna Desopo...Amazing writer... website

I also just had a friend win "best song" for one of her tunes in a UK Country radio awards show held overseas in Europe...and she received a runner up selection in the John Lennon songwriting contest for her tune "I'm not ready yet" great song. Her name is Lorna

Melody Guy is a wonderful friend that has her song "Mistakes like me" coming out on radio in March. Please request it at yer local country station. This song gives me chills everytime I hear it and the acoustic version is on her's about her son that has mental challenges. She wants to get him into a special school but doesn't have the money...hopefully with a lot of airplay she can accomplish this goal. Melody's website -

"Bill D" as I call him...has one of his songs nominated as a finalist in the CMT/NSAI song sure to keep an eye out and support this amazing writer and great friend. One of my favorite songs of his is called "What would Jesus drive" at his site.... Bill D -

Buddy Robert Arey, was given the "Horizon Award" at TSAI awards show 2006. Horizon is for those that show a huge growth in songwriting ability in a year. Great friend and writer...Robert Arey site -

Jarrod Doucet has some great news as well, we both have a song of ours "For the ones i love" as a finalist in the country category in the ISC contest. I'm looking forward to hearing big things from him....another great writer with a gift of melody and music. Jarrod Doucet -

So, those are some success stories to tell ya about......

I've only been here a year and a half and am blown away by the amazing talent this town has to offer...writers, artist....etc....and it just reminds me that God has placed a gift in every one of us, you included...and I feel so blessed that I leaped off that "cliff of fear" and am growing my wings as I go. Just as did all these writers above. It's not the easiest thing to do, indeed....however it's one of those choices that once it's done, you wonder why ya didn't do it sooner....

Fear - False expectation appearing real

What are you afraid of this year? I hope you find inspiration in the stories above and jump off your cliff....

Be love..inspire

Pursuing the dream 1/5/2007

I read a really inspiring message I wanted to share with you today. I know sometimes I get caught up in the when, where, hows and whys of this dream of music in my heart. When will I be able to provide for my family with this is it gonna happen...why hasn't it happened yet....if God put this burning desire in my heart to move me from my birthplace away from family and friends to pursue music....why is it harder than I expected.....all questions that'll drive ya nuts....right?

Well, I know God put a dream in your heart as well, and like me, you might be going through some of these same struggles from time to time.....up, down....up, down.....kinda feels like a roller coaster sometimes doesn't it ? ;-)

This message helped remind me today that we're here for the journey and if we focus too much on the destination....we might miss all this good stuff that's happening can we make the ordinary days extraordinary? Full of purpose and passion that no matter what happens on this road....we feel fullfilled?

Hope this message reaches you in renewed spirits that anything is possible....

Have a blessed new year....

Be blessed, be love..inspire..

Pursuing the Dream

If you want to live a joyful and fulfilling life, learn to celebrate each moment of each day. All it really takes is a decision on your part to relish the events, people, and tasks that make up everyday life. Of course, you should have goals. God has put dreams and desires in each person's heart. And there will always be another dream, another challenge just over the horizon. Slow down and enjoy each stage of what He is doing in your life. You don't have to make everything happen today. Pursue the goals that God has planted in you, but don't forget to enjoy each stage of the journey!

A Prayer for Today

God, I know that You have planted dreams and goals in me. Help me to pursue them with the awareness that they will happen in Your time, and give me the ability to enjoy where You have me today. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Happy Friday 12.15.06 - Time won't stop

Happppppy Holiday's........already...WOW!! Like me yer probably wonderin' where the heck the year went....seems like yesterday I was down at the pool (O.K. I only got to go once this year but still ;-) Also seems like yesterday that Heather had a baby the size of an Acorn in her was really a peppercorn, but I kept getting the two mixed up........hadn't used those vocab words in a while..... Now baby Madelyn is about 4 pounds 17 inches long....and since time doesn't stop....she'll continue to get bigger and bigger.....then she'll be introduced to our world...her body shining in the sun....and we'll be face to face with our little miracle..... Before now, I never really thought to deeply on the subject but man....babies are awesome...from conception to birth....and beyond.....what a facinating process....a miraculous process......... Reflecting back I don't remember much in the womb (nothing really) but WOWWWW!! Have you seen what we had to endure to be where we are today? Just to be born? Each and everone of us went through and are still going through that process......growing, learning, like a baby, like a child, we are all walking, white, brown, red, men, women.....we all are a part of a divine process....a part of something so BIG that sometimes we forget..... So if yer having a bad minute, bad hour, bad's O.K. dust the ol' boots off, high heels for the ladies....and reflect on just how important you are important....Give love to receive love....and even if you don't receive it right away...keep on giving.......;-) it'll surely find its way to your doorstep. So I'll leave ya with some lyrics to a song I wrote earlier this year...and will be on the next CD "Scars"....enjoy!!! Me or You (copyright 2006 - Ryan "ryno" Nicholson ; Dare to live music) There's a reason for life and a reason for love A reason for everything that is here and above It's a meticulous plan from the stars to the moon Nothing comes to late, nothing goes to soon It's a game that we play though we don't understand Someday's the weight of the world's in the palm of your hands And you patiently wait in this cubicle off life Well, just keep hangin' on cause it gets better with time Unleash your weary heart and be true Are you doin' everything you know you've got to do Swingin' in the tree of life, given to you Remember time won't stop for me or you Get caught up with your sisters and caught up with your sons Catch up with mom and dad before they're gone Daughter's need there Father's right from the start And we all need each other whether near or far We all have our blessings and curses to fight DON'T MAKE A PERMANENT DECISION IN TEMPORARY TIMES Walk though the ragin' flames burnin' you and remember Time won't stop for me or you...... Happy Friday 12.01.06

Wow, another year gone by (almost ;-) Is it me, or does that ol' clock on the wall tick a little faster and faster as we get older and older? (LOL) Well, the years been filled with very many blessings (including the news) of my first child "Madelyn" due Feb 2007. Had a dream that I was holding her the other night and can't even begin to explain the emotions i, very amazing. Also heard news of several friends of mine, and friends of friends who lost loved ones. It really reminds me how important it is that we never take a single day for granted, and that we let our open "Scars" heal and move forward with renewed love and hope. We've all been hurt by somebody.....or have hurt somebody.....neither one feels that great. So I just pray that you have a moment and reflect on this last year and see what wounds might still be open, what family member or friend can you call today to make amends? They may need you more now than ever. Love heals everything

Happy Friday 11.10.06 "Livin' for today"

Howdy... "It's beginning to look a lot like X-Mas....everywhere we go....da..da.da...da...." Wow, and it's gonna hit a nice and steamy 79 degrees here in Nashvegas today....whoa!!! kinda Arizona weather LOL..... So today's Friday email has a little to do with some conversations that have come up fact, two within the last week. And I didn't even bring it up. So here's yer sign right ;-) Livin' for today What does that mean? I know everyone can interpret it differently, however I have a feeling we all understand what it means to us. If you have kids, it might mean spending a little less time on the computer and goin' outside to play with them...(if weather permits LOL) or play inside..... If ya have a significant other, it might mean spontaneously goin' to a movie, or a picnic at the park instead of worrying about stuff you feel needs to get done....(no worries, it'll be there when ya get back right?) Often, and i'm guilty of it as well, we feel like things will get better when we get that raise, get the promotion....when we get a record label deal (o.k. that might just be me... ;-) you know, that stuff we look to in the future......... While it's good to look to the future to inspire us today, do we sometimes get a little lost in it? That life will be good when.........things will get better when......... i'll be able to do this or that when.......... Or do we wake up each morning (i'm tryin' to make this a ritual) so appreciative of what we have now that we're overwhelmed with gratefulness? The air we breathe, the love and support of our loved ones and family, send a message or call somebody ya haven't talked to in a while and let em' know how much they mean to you....and i mean a personal reflective email....not one you can just forward ;-) Call Mom or Dad, heal old wounds, love the world through the eyes of a child......these are just a few things....... We're only guaranteed why worry about tomorrow? I hope ya have the most amazing weekend......fill it with love and laughter...... Be love...inspire.... ryan "ryno" nicholson

Just don't give up...!!!

I wanted to share a cool story with ya that really touched my heart yesterday... I went to the CMA music festival yesterday and was handed a big ol' package of stuff (magazines, memoribillia etc..) and came across a sticker that had the group Alabama on it......if ya don't know who Alabama is, they've had 40 number one hits and have been well known since they day they were signed in April of 1980. This quote will probably forever stick in my was from the lead singer Randy Owens....paraphrased....he said..."We're just living proof of what can happen when you just don't give up!!!!".....Wow..i thought as the ol' goose pimples sprouted from my every pore..... It's so all aspects of life....just don't give up!!! So, that's my story and i'm stickin' to it.... May your weekend be filled with life, love and laughter.... BE BLESSED....BE LOVE....and most of all...."NEVER GIVE UP!!" ryno p.s. if you know of somebody that might appreciate these spppporadic happy friday messages, please let em' know.....cya

The Daffodil Principle (must read)

The Daffodil Principle Several times my daughter had telephoned to say, "Mother, you must come see the daffodils before they are over." I wanted to go, but it was a two-hour drive from Laguna to Lake Arrowhead. "I will come next Tuesday, " I promised, a little reluctantly, on her third call. Next Tuesday dawned cold and rainy. Still, I had promised, and so I drove there. When I finally walked into Carolyn's house and hugged and greeted my grandchildren, I said, "Forget the daffodils, Carolyn! The road is invisible in the clouds and fog, and there is nothing in the world except you and these children that I want to see bad enough to drive another inch! My daughter smiled calmly and said, "We drive in this all the time, Mother." "Well, you won't get me back on the road until it clears, and then I'm heading for home!" I assured her. "I was hoping you'd take me over to the garage to pick up my car." "How far will we have to drive?" "Just a few blocks," Carolyn said. "I'll drive. I'm used to this." After several minutes, I had to ask, "Where are we going? This isn't the way to the garage!" "We're going to my garage the long way." Carolyn smiled, "by way of the daffodils." "Carolyn," I said sternly, "please turn around." "It's all right, Mother, I promise. You will never forgive yourself if you miss this experience." After about twenty minutes, we turned onto a small gravel road and I saw a small church. On the far side of the church, I saw a hand-lettered sign that read, "Daffodil Garden." We got out of the car and each took a child's hand, and I followed Carolyn down the path. Then, we turned a corner of the path, and I looked up and gasped. Before me lay the most glorious sight. It looked as though someone had taken a great vat of gold and poured it down over the mountain peak and slopes. The flowers were planted in majestic, swirling patterns-great ribbons and swaths of deep orange, white, lemon yellow, salmon pink, saffron, and butter yellow. Each different-colored variety was planted as a group so that it swirled and flowed like its own river with its own unique hue. There were five acres of flowers. "But who has done this?" I asked Carolyn. "It's just one woman," Carolyn answered. "She lives on the property. That's her home." Carolyn pointed to a well kept A frame house that looked small and modest in the midst of all that glory. We walked up to the house. On the patio, we saw a poster. "Answers to the Questions I Know You Are Asking" was the headline. The first answer was a simple one, "50,000 bulbs," it read. The second answer was; "One at a time, by one woman. Two hands, two feet, and very little brain." The third answer was, "Began in 1958." There it was, The Daffodil Principle. For me, that moment was a life-changing experience. I thought of this woman whom I had never met, who, more than forty years before, had begun - one bulb at a time-to bring her vision of beauty and joy to an obscure mountain top. Still, just planting one bulb at a time, year after year, had changed the world. This unknown woman had forever changed the world in which she lived. She had created something of ineffable (indescribable) magnificence, beauty, and inspiration. The principle her daffodil garden taught is one of the greatest principles of celebration. That is, learning to move toward our goals and desires one step at a time-often just one baby-step at a time-and learning to love the doing, learning to use the accumulation of time. When we multiply tiny pieces of time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world. "It makes me sad in a way," I admitted to Carolyn. "What might I have accomplished if I had thought of a wonderful goal thirty-five or forty years ago and had worked away at it 'one bulb at a time' through all those years. Just think what I might have been able to achieve!" My daughter summed up the message of the day in her usual direct way. "Start tomorrow," she said. It's so pointless to think of the lost hours of yesterdays. The way to make learning a lesson of celebration instead of a cause for regret is to only ask, "How can I put this to use today?" . . . Author Unknown We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, when we are able to go on a nice vacation, or when we retire. The truth is there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with...and remember that time waits for no one. So, stop waiting... Until your car or home is paid off Until you get a new car or home Until your kids leave the house Until you go back to school Until you finish school Until you lose 10 lbs. Until you gain 10 lbs. Until you get married Until you get a divorce Until you have kids Until you retire Until summer Until spring Until winter Until fall Until you die There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. So work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching.

Just listening. THE GIFT OF AFFECTION... Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends. THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER... Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you." THE GIFT OF A WRITTEN NOTE... It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life. THE GIFT OF A COMPLIMENT... A simple and sincere, "You look great in red," "You did a super job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day. THE GIFT OF A FAVOR... Every day, go out of your way to do something kind. THE GIFT OF SOLITUDE... There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times and give the gift of solitude to others. THE GIFT OF A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION... The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone, really it's not that hard to say, Hello or Thank You. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

happy friday 3.3.06

Just the other day I received some unfortunate news about a classmate of mine who made the decision that it was time he leave this world and move on to the unknown. It was only 2 weeks ago that my new friend and I were walking stride by stride, as we left class, talking about the brown recluse spider bite he'd gotten during gym. Everything seemed O.K. but it apparently wasn't. My teacher said something in class that will forever resignate with me. She said, "don't make a permanent decision based off a temporary problem." Boy does that ring true. Yes, life is hard....filled with it's blessings and it's curses...but it is as she states "a life worth living." Please read this uplifting passage by Ralph Murphy. We are so lucky to have the opportunities we do..... Light and Love, Ryan "ryno" Nicholson p.s. - a few new songs have been uploaded to the website...feel free to check them out. One is a song called "Keep movin' on." Friday, March 3, 2006 Something new Today is a new, unique, original day. So find something new, unique and original to do with it. You are knowledgeable, talented, and creative. You live in a universe where new possibilities are continually multiplying. What new creation can you bring to life today? In what new and original way can you express the blessed uniqueness of who you are? Go beyond merely moving though the motions and the moments. Put some real creative life into your thoughts and actions. Consider how very flexible and adaptable and open you have the ability to be. There are truly amazing things that you've already done with all that ability, and even more great things you are now able to do. This moment is your opportunity to make more than just a rerun of the past. Give of yourself something new to life, every chance you get.

2006 Happy New Year!!

Well 2006 came in with a bang eh?? If you're like me you're probably asking yourself, where did the last 6 years go??? Heck, it was only yesterday that I was stocking my pantry with water and food. Not only that, I was extremely tempted to buy gold because supposedly money would be worth nil' due to a coming technology disaster due to the date. Yes the year was 1999. Over this last 6 years I've also battled with something we all know.....and that's "our purpose." After reading this special story below, I couldn't help but share it with you as a little reminder that everything little thing we do in life matters. And it's all apart of "our purpose." Here's wishing you a blessed and amazing journey through 2006.......please feel free to share this with somebody.... Love, Ryno STORY of a CAB RIDE > Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. When I > arrived at 2:30a.m., the building was dark except > for a single light in a ground floor window. > > Under these circumstances, many drivers would just > honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. > But, I had seen too many impoverished people who > depended on taxis as their only means of > transportation. "Just a minute", answered a frail, > elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged > across the floor. > > After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman > in her 80's stood before me. She was wearing a print > dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, > like somebody out of a 1940s movie. By her side was > a small nylon suitcase. > > The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it > for years. All the furniture was covered with > sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no > knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the > corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and > glassware. > > "Would you carry my bag out to the car?" she said. I > took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to > assist the woman. She took my arm and we walked > slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my > kindness. > > "It's nothing", I told her. "I just try to treat my passengers the way > I would want my mother treated". "Oh, you're such a good boy", she > said. > > When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, then > asked, "Could you drive through downtown?" "It's not > the shortest way," I answered quickly. "Oh, I don't > mind," she said. "I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to > a hospice". > > I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were > glistening. "I don't have any family left," she > continued. "The doctor says I don't have very long." > I quietly reached over and shut off the meter. > "What route would you like me to take?" I asked. > > For the next two hours, we drove through the city. > She showed me the building where she had once worked > as an elevator operator. ST. Theresa's Prayer

St. Theresa's Prayer: May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and everyone of you.

it's beginning to look a lot like x-mas

I read a cool quote from Harold Whitman the other day and thought I'd share it with ya. "Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive." In case you're interested I thought I'd update ya a little on what's goin' on this side of the woods (no pun intended) Yesterday, I had the opportunity to co-write with a very, very cool friend and writer in town. The song we're writing is just "Magic..magic...magic" and I can't wait to share it with ya... Also, last night I had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people at the NSAI Holiday Party. Just a fun, fun time. I'm also currently writing with a few other great writers in town (on-going) and we have come up with some amazing stuff. It's just so cool when you have 2 or 3 minds working towards a common goal. A few of these songs will be demo'd professionally in studio and the others I demo'd here on my pro tools system. One of the songs is called "missin somethin" available to listen to now at the listening page of my website. Haven't been painting at's too cold (LOL) the paint just freezes...(joke) Oh yeah, the new CD "Dream" just arrived and I've got a few left so if you'd like to get yer hands on one b4 x-mas, please let me know or simply go here and get one Well, have a fantastic weekend..... Stay time

Hey ya'll.... I hope October treated you well and you got enough candy to fill your halloween baggy ;-) What's new? Well, last Saturday, my ASCAP class got the opportunity to have a song recorded. So, my group and I decided to write a song called "Someday". It's a tune that'd I'd worked on a little back in AZ and had a few lyrics too but after a few meetings with some other great writers (Kristen and Jaime) we hashed things out and came up with a killllller tune...sounds kind of like the band GARBAGE...and it's my first song ever with a bad word in it...yeah, I'm human too ;-) Sometimes you say what you feel right? I have a few edits to make and then I'm going to upload it here. BTW - A huge thanks to Darrell Brown for bank rolling all of the demo costs at the studio for the ASCAP Class rock dude...and your writing/producing is nothing short of amazing. Ummmmmm...just been doing more writing.... currently finishing up on 2 new songs (Little Town Livin' and Missin' Somethin') that are going to blow ya away......oh yeah, just finished another tune as well with a few friends called NAUGHTY (it's not as bad as you think...i promise) It's a cute idea that we just had to roll with...i this town ya just have to think outside the box!!! and we sure did *Haha... Well, have a great week, chat with ya'll soon i'm ryno p.s. you are 1 choice away from following your dream ;-)

Hay ride....yehaww!! Leaves are changin'

Last night was a blast...we were invited to go to a neighborhood hay ride at a 200 acre farm just across the street. You can check out the farm online at Heard some really cool war stories about how the troops in the civil war came through and fought on these lands...pretty weird when ya think about it. My back yard could have been a camping site...ya never know!! The leaves are finally starting to change and the weather is finally getting chilly...when I get a moment I'll upload a few picts of the area...Today it got up to 55 degrees and is supposed to stay under 60 all week. At night we're supposed to get to 32 degrees at least for the week...burrrrr....can you say I need to shop for winter clothes...(in AZ ya didn't need a whole lot to keep ya warm ;-) I'm heading off to watch game to of the World Series....enjoy your week!! Love, Ryan

Tomorrow's the big day...

I just completed co-writing an amazing and empowering song called "why couldn't i" and am fixin' to have a full demo done tomorrow 10/13/'ll have killer nashville cats playin' on it along with a freaking awesome vocalist....when we were auditioning for singers i knew she had to be the one to cut this song..she's i excited? you betcha!! can't wait till you can hear it. well...other than that, just been learning all i can about this town and trying to become the best songwriter i can......i hope you're having a great day...don't forget to smile it'll leave nicer wrinkles (love ryno)

Live like you were dying

Believe it or not but I got to meet one of the men responsible for writing one of the most inspiring songs I think I've ever heard. If you haven't heard this song, please take a moment to look this song up on the net. It's "live like you were dying" by Tim McGraw. He's also the ASCAP writer of the year...very hard pressed to come by. HIs name is Craig Weisman and he is truly the most down to earth and inspiring person I've met since coming here. He told a cool story of misfortune that actually helped guide him (goes to prove that bad things happening to good people might actually be good things) Some cool wisdom he shared that'll I've long believed but will share it again is - Leave the past in the past....Don't worry too much about the'll come in time...maybe.....and Live in the NOW! So many people get caught in auto-pilot and try not to think to much about's O.K. to's O.K. to challenge's O.K. to LIVE..... Well, I hope you have a wonderful ryno

New songs...

1st - Co-writing session

Today was a very cool day...learned a lot about how co-writing goes in this town. I had the opportunity to meet up with a really cool guy that's had 11 number 1's and over 65 cuts. I also want to tell you about a website to go to in order to raise money for New Orleans. He wrote this tune and it's at

A story about "Bob" the homeless guy...

Yes, it's a true story... I learned many important "life lessons" last night that I will never forget. Last night, on music row, I met a homeless person named "Bob". After spending a few hours with "Bob", I realized that the struggles we meet day in and day out are simply miniscule compared to the hardships that other's are going through at this very moment... "Bob" didn't blame anyone for being put in his position. (Sure, he fell off a roof and smashed his leg to pieces) but instead of focusing on "poor me" he knew it was a gift from God, to help him grow and become stronger person. In fact, when a gentleman strolled by paralyzed in a wheelchair, "Bob" looked at me and said..."See him"? "Now that's got to be hard", "It makes me feel so fortunate". This statement came from a man who doesn't know where he's going to get his next meal. Yesterday, when I took him to dinner, I asked what he had for breakfast and he said "You're lookin' at it". He hadn't eaten all day, actually he'd gone two days without a bite to eat. I can't go without a meal without being a baby. All night I tried to put myself in his shoes. I've never been homeless and I've always been one in the back of my mind that says...go get a job...don't be lazy...etc...etc.... Some of the homeless people really can't work..."Bob", because of his leg the way it is (one more surgery to go...on his 4th), has trouble standing for more than 10 minutes at a time. Even though he's been in construction his entire life, No day laborer will hire him. He also looked for inside work at many of the downtown companies, but they're just not willing to take a risk... Talk about a helpless feeling... But still he goes on day to day just hoping people won't criticize him for the way he looks and for the way he's living life during this moment of despair on his journey of becoming a better and stronger person. When you feel life has thrown you a curve ball please think about "Bob"...I'm sure he'd be thrilled to know he helped make a difference. A few words of wisdom from "Bob" "Treat everyone as you wish to be treated", yes homeless people are people too with feelings. "You make a big difference in others lives even though you may not know it" "Enjoy the journey!" Love, Ryan Free music available at If you like what you hear, and you will, please tell a friend or two....thanks!!

not an empty seat in da house

MONDAY, MARCH 28th wow!!..if i would have written this just one day earlier then i'd be on a roll for 27ths.....freaky...LOL. well, we just had a gig 2 nights ago at Borders in Chandler and it was about a packed house...i can't thank each and everyone of you enough for all your support. looks like next time, fans will have to bring their own really...for a while there, there wasn't a single empty seat. there were some highlights from the night...1st memorable moment was when i accidentally went to the restroom in the ladies room...(it really was an accident) talk about feeling weird...especially when there's another lady waiting on you so that she can go....(funniest thing is that i remember walking in and wondering why there weren't any of those wall units to go to the bathroom in....) oh well, i made it out safely and wasn't harmed in anyway....also Eric Douglas made it out to play Harmonica on Dream with us....he's amazing on that thing....not to mention he did a guest appearance and played "Heartland"'s my favorite song of his... binki boy (matthew..our youngest fan) also made it out...and we got him to scream "HEY YOU!!" all by himself....we were so proud of him.....I heard later that he was a little upset with us because we didn't remember how to play "ILENE" his second favorite song....yes, we need to practice that one for the next case he's there.. i was also very pleased to see dadra and her big group of friends (she practically filled up the place herself with all those people.....was so glad to hear they all had a great time)...saw a very familiar face off to my right (the clay table) and wanted to thank him for bringing out his family and friends (i do know that we met him at the Coffee Plantation in Gilbert back in December of last year....) Also, wanted to thank the clay extradorinaires (hope that's spelled right) for making us a "RHINO"..a "BASS GUITAR" and a "TREE" for the guys are to sweet... thank you also to Wayne, Swati for making it out...Ben and Jen (with family)...and David (potential new drummer for "RYNO") and his wife and Linda (and her friend) well, if i left anyone out, i must sincerely apologize....please take a moment though and check out the picts on the photo album from the night...they're awesome...and you'll get to see the "CLAY creations" i hope you all had a wonderful easter day...and wish you a great week...please stay tuned for our upcoming shows...or just enter your email on the home page and we'll let you know when and where we'll be....."don't put off till tomorrow what you could do today" ryno (from the song free to go) studio

Good Morning Arizona

TUES, JULY 20th Pete, Phil and I performed on Good Morning Arizona again today! Actually had a really good time. We played a little instrumental part for a new song we're putting together called "Every Little Thing"...and then from there, our main segment was "Pieces". After that, they told us we had about 2-3 minutes at the end of the show to play another tune so we picked..."A lot to live for!" The following are a few reviews of our show this morning.... I saw ya!!! You guys were great, and have a great sound! Thanks so much for the inspriation! "Yeah, Good Job Ryno, Wooo Hoooo!" You guys did a fantastic job and it just so happens that you played my two favorite pieces. Can't wait to see you guys. Crazy timing. busy weekend singing in the rain

FRI, SAT & SUN JAN 23RD, 24TH and 25TH > needless to say, this weekend was a very busy one....the first show of the three was held out at the biltmore coffee plantation.....again, it was very cold night due to the crazy weather we've been having here in good ol' az. about 3/4 into our set, peto and i got rained on. and being the troopers we are, we even did a few songs in the rain...."HEY!...I WAS SINGING IN THE RAIN.....SINGING IN THE RAIN!" i think that's the first time i ever sang in the pretty cool *LOL. the second night, was at the gilbert coffee plantation.....where i had the opportunity to meet a wonderful little girl who told me that her doggie grew wings and flew to the moon. it was such a special moment that she shared with everyone there.....her doggie died about six mths ago.....and ever since, when she looks at the moon, she knows that's where her doggie was to special! also met some other really neat people...oh and my fans beat everyone in "HEY YOU!" the ryno fans were rockin.....and loud as heck!!! last but not least, sunday night, peto and i perfomed at a benefit concert that went really well. made some new fans and just party'd the night away....lots of fun!! this weekend, i had an amazing encounter with a wonderful lady that lost her husband recently in a motorcycle accident. please always remember daily to tell those you care about that you love them.....see ya at the next show! love - ryno

road trip (magic mtn)

SATURDAY, JAN 10TH > yeah!!!! we made it home safely *LOL........gotta say...that was the funnest road trip i've ever taken......thank you to everyone that helped make it guys are all so wonderful......i don't know if you noticed it, but that bus was filled with LOVE. such wonderful people with great was great to meet many new fans as well that decided to join us...for those that couldn't's a little blurp on the trip!!! basically we packed in a bunch of people on this big ol' bus and watched "Pirates of the Carribean" on the way up. very few people slept because of all the excitement....i know i couldn't sleep... then we arrived to magic mtn. talk about a beautiful day..partly cloudy..mostly sunny...about 65 degrees. gates opened and bam, we were off!! some of us faster than others LOL......i heard some crazy ride when rainy's daughter passed out on the "superman" ride and also when scottyb's daughter couldn't catch her breath on the "goliath"...must have been pretty scary.....oh and not to mention melanie's son matt who went on one ride like 20 times in a row......and her daughter april went on it 10 times before calling it quits...and we're not talking little rides here, we're talking the big ones!! after magic mtn, we headed out for HOLLYWOOD dadadada HOLLYWOOD and ate dinner. still feeling a little out of it after 36 hours of no sleep and riding rides at Magic Mtn, i decided to eat something light...(eggs benedict) ended up pretty much eating the eggs (for protein) and that was about it LOL.....i didn't want to end up having a barf party up on stage as i was going to be perfoming in about another 20 minutes or so.......after dinner, we all headed back across the street to the acoustic playhouse...and very nice intimate setting with booths, tables, bar and sweet acoustic set up on stage. peto and i plugged in and we were on our way. the show was absolutely amazing...the energy was awesome and with the adrenaline i had going, you'd never know i was now reaching my 37 hr of no sleep .....crazy what "WINDS" the body can give you.....basically all night, i fed off the energy of the wonderful crowd that had accompanied me and peto on this wonderful voyage to CA. it was another great night filled with meaning and love and boy did CALIFORNIA get rocked with HEY YOU'S....if you don't know what HEY YOU is, you'll know soon enough......( basically by screaming HEY YOU out loud, it symbolizes that you want to wake up the world to LOVE....and for humanities sake you want to lend a hand in spreading that love by screaming HEY YOU!!) Simple enough eh...just two little words??.....After the show, we all hopped back onto the bus (yess like bunnies) and fell asleep....the end!! p.s. please don't ever forget to share your hey you's within your immediate world. it really is a small world we live in and yes, one person can make a difference...that one person is you!....light and love..ryno

beginning to look a lot like xmas

FRI DEC 19TH > it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...everywhere where i go.... :-) and that's no first ever gig where people were dressed up in santa caps...i loved fact, peto and i had the pleasure of sporting these santa fashion items for a few songs before the group had to leave....that was really neat...some picts of me and peto with the santa caps will be up soon!! thanks (gino) for loaning those to us - LOL. you may or may not know, but when you come to a show, peto and i transform your name into a "ryno world' name...for example...we had the opportunity to meet some neat people at table #2 (you know who you are if you were sitting at that table) playing uno to their hearts desire and then bam before they knew it, they were in ryno world :-) the table consisted of Kathy (Kato), Thomas (Thomo), Kiley (, not pronounced like you might think), Susan (Suso) and Richard (Rico......suave..LOL)...i was so proud of this table....they screamed out "HEY YOU!" like they were experts at it....and yes, they won that evenings prize for loudest group. thanks for coming out guys!!....i was also very delighted to see several of our newest fans and friends....wanda...april...karen...jerri...ryan...rainey...(i could go on and all know who you are...and i thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming out to enjoy this evening with us.... i hope you found tonight inspirational and meaningful) it was basically another friend fest with a few (only a few) fart of which i had no clue....(did you know that breaking wind means - farting?) well, tonight i didn't and missed peto's funny joke that everyone else was laughing for all you out there that don't know what breaking wind ya know!! tonight we had a blast peforming songs like "pieces", " there's a lot to live for", "dream..newest song", and several others.......yep, i'm still smiling from all the laughs we shared. Thanks to Karen and april for the light show ( had to be there to know what I'm talking about on this one....... Oh, i almost forgot the decaf story. rainey went to get me and pete two decaf coffees...., when they came out, peto made the joke of "i wonder if these are double decaf" i decided to go in and ask the lady if they were double decafs......the moment i said that, the lady looked at me and said that they were infact caffinated coffees......this was at around 10:30 P.M (if we wouldn't have been joking about that, peto and i would have been up till the wee hours of sunday morning pulling our hair out...(wait a minute, peto doesn't have hair..LOL)..I guess it never hurts to joke around a little...) towards the end of the night, we met two really cool guys that were just hanging out.....(another Ryno) and a (dano)...yes, their real names are ryan and dan. i gave ryno #2 the opportunity to come up and jam on the gtr. he and peto did a really cool blues number...."good job ryno #2" it was cool being in the audience and seeing ya do your thing....keep it up! And dano......this guy was too cool....he noticed my "Magical Gtr" was sitting on the ground up against a chair and asked if i had another gtr holder....i said no. so he ran out to his gtr and gave me one of his....yes, he gave it to me. thanks to dano for that gift....that was so awesome. in closing, tonight just reminded me that their is a lot of love around, we just have to open our hearts and minds to the idea of love, hope and inspiration....if we do, it'll be there right in front of our smiling's all around!!. love ya lots....hurry and reserve your tickets, only about 20 seats left for the "magical tour to magic mtn"....P.S listen to us being interviewed by tracy on the zone this sunday night Dec. 21st at 8:00 p.m....and don't forget to call her after you read this at 602-452-1053 and request your favorite song from RYNO!!.....and happy, happy holidays to you all! *last note i just remembered, i was pulled aside by jerri tonight and she said that the doctors think that she has lung cancer....because of her state of health, they cannot go in and do any tests so please keep jerri in your prayers. in addition to jerri, a dear friend of mine sandy has just learned that her daughter has been diagnosed with RSD...please keep her daughter Jamie in your prayers too as she fights this courageous battle with pain on a daily basis.........peace, light & love.....ryno.............."So I live my life one day at a time today!" - (lyric from my life)

toooo close for comfort

FRI DEC 12TH > first, thank you to the coffee plantation at the biltmore and nicole for setting this up...we had a blast....needless to say, i was super suprised to see how many people showed up tonight that i've seen at one venue or guys are so awesome and i'm so grateful to have supportive fans like U. in fact, at one time, i counted 22 familiar faces......and you all endured the freeeeezzzzzinggggg weather with me and guys ARE #1!! So, i showed up a little late to this one. got there at about 8 o'clock (show was set for 7:30) but i have an excuse. right as i was leaving, my cat (i thought) got bit by a black widow....she got out of the house (she's an indoor cat) and as she was rounding the corner, she leaped about 20 feet in the air (o.k. it was only about 5 feet) but still...she doesn't just go around doing that (she's not a kangaroo :-) running over there, i saw a black widow....and though oh great!! i have a show tonight and the last thing i need is to have to take my cat into the vet. after calling the vet, i realized she didn't have any of the symptoms (no tremors or vigorus breathing) so i headed out on my way. (this entire incident put me behind about 20-30 mins) now i'm heading down higley coming up on baseline and i see cop cars galore....when i pulled up closer, i noticed there was a really bad accident.....being the crazy guy i asked the cops how long ago the accident had occured (wondering of course if my cat just saved me from a bad accident) the cop responded that it was a new accident and had happened about 20-30 mins earlier......this only confirms to me that even though bad stuff happens to us in life, it does happen for a reason....we just have to keep on keeping on and realize that we'll never have all the answers...that in my eyes is what is so special about life - the little miracles! speaking of that, tonight i had the opportunity to play my newest song (with lyrics) called "There's a lot to live for!" and the crowd was just as fun as can be on this one....i saw a lot of bouncing around and singing going on out there....also saw some hands up in the air....the people that could really feel it in their souls...there truly is a lot to live for...(right now as i type) i'm living for my next show that i can share with you all again. at the conclusion of the evening i was driving home on the freeway saying a little prayer to God, to my angels, and to those that were close to me that have passed on, just thanking them for the inspiration and love they've spirited my that i may share it with you. amazingly they answered me back as i hit the us60 and Gilbert road showing me my spirtual number 444 on the license plate of a 2003 ford thunderbird (blue).....what a special moment...please always remember to share your love and to inspire those around's the best love anyone can ever give or receive......sending much light and love to you and yours this holiday season....RYNO

Merry Main ST

FRI DEC 5TH > Merry Main St. - What a treat...boy did it feel good just to rock out with the band...don't get me wrong, I love the acoustic stuff too but man o man tonight was a blast. Thank you to everyone who made it out. And to all the new people we guys are awesome, we had a great time performing for you and it was such a pleasure meeting you. My hand is cramped from all the autographs (LOL). Thanks also to the staff of Merry Main Street for helping us put on such a wonderful show. I've got a huge grin on my face right now thinking of all the people screaming "HEY YOU" and "LOVE" during the song "HEY YOU!" It's a personal favorite of mine and it just isn't the same without those screams......On a side note, I saw a movie that just blew me away...(some nudity so kids beware). It's called "Love Actually" and it's filled with meaning. So if you get a chance, check it out!! P.S. Whose life have you touched today? Love and light to you and yours this wonderful holiday season....RYNO

flying solo

SATURDAY NOV 29TH > I flew solo tonight. Pete had some other fun stuff to do (that was planned before this gig was booked). Was much warmer that last night's show and the fingers were working again!! LOL. Actually it was a very cool show at Borders in Chandler...and I saw lots of familiar faces so I want to thank each and everyone of you for coming out. Met some new friends however....Kathy, John and their son Mark. Mark (probably 8 years old or so) was just a hoot! Great kid with lots of love and energy...probably due to that big old brownie you ate before huh?? j.k..... Anyway, tonight was just awesome. It's nights like these that remind me why I do what I do. Just plain life and having fun, that's what it's all about. And we did just that tonight! Hoot's, thanks for bringing the whole family's always a pleasure having the kids there to scream to the songs"HEY YOU!" and "ILENE".........light and love...R.Y.N.O "Realize.... You're....Number.....One!"
